Choose How Long My Dissolve Transition Lasts?

Go to the Playback panel (in the right side Panels area), and make sure the Sync Slides to Music checkbox is turned off. You’ll see the Crossfades slider and that lets you choose how long the fade between two images lasts (the farther you drag it to the right, the longer it takes).
